breast reduction

Lightness, freedom of movement, body balance

For many women, having very large breasts is not only an aesthetic challenge but also a physical burden. Back, shoulder and neck pain, postural problems, pressure marks from bra straps or skin irritation in the underbust crease can significantly affect everyday life. Very large breasts can be a constant feature of daily life for many years – affecting exercise, choice of clothing, posture and, at times, self-confidence.

Many patients report that they have come to terms with their breasts over the years. They choose their clothing carefully, avoid certain sports, or have become accustomed to muscle tension and a constant feeling of heaviness.

A breast reduction can help to adapt the breast size to the individual’s body proportions, reduce physical discomfort and significantly improve personal well-being.

The aim is not to make the breasts as small as possible.
The aim is to create a breast shape that suits your body and causes you less discomfort in everyday life.

When might a breast reduction be advisable?
A breast reduction may be advisable in the following cases:

-Back, shoulder or neck pain
-Postural problems
-Pressure marks caused by bra straps
-Skin irritation in the underbust crease
-Limitations on sport and physical activity
-Breasts that are disproportionately large in relation to body height
-Psychological distress caused by breast size
-The desire for more harmonious body proportions
For many women, the focus is not on aesthetics, but on improving their day-to-day well-being.

When exercise becomes a burden
Many women report that whilst they cope well in everyday life, they are regularly reminded of their breast size when exercising. Jogging, gym workouts, horse riding, tennis and other sporting activities can be made more difficult by the weight of the breasts. It is not uncommon for this to lead to tension, discomfort or a feeling of being restricted in movement.
A breast reduction can help to provide greater freedom of movement and comfort in everyday life and when doing sport.

When clothing becomes a constant issue
Many patients report that their clothes often do not fit as they would like.
Blouses are tight across the bust, dresses do not fit in proportion to their figure, or they have to choose larger sizes even though the rest of their body proportions do not require it.
It is not uncommon for this to influence their choice of clothing for many years.
A breast reduction can help ensure that clothes fit more harmoniously again and that the body’s proportions appear more balanced.

Breast reduction following weight loss
Not every large bust is influenced solely by body weight.
Even after successful weight loss, the breasts may still be perceived as too large or cause discomfort due to sagging tissue.
Many women report that, although they have reached their target weight, their breasts still do not match how they now feel about their body.

In these situations, a breast reduction can help to better balance breast size with the body’s proportions.

What is the aim of a breast reduction?
The aim of a breast reduction is to reduce the size of the breasts whilst creating a natural, harmonious breast shape.
This can involve:
-remove excess breast tissue
-reduce excess skin
-reshape the breast
-reposition the nipple to a more harmonious position
-alleviate discomfort caused by the weight of the breast
The result should be both functionally and aesthetically pleasing.

Breast reduction or breast lift – which procedure is right for me?
Not every breast that is perceived as a problem requires reduction.
If the breast has mainly lost its firmness, a breast lift may be sufficient.
However, if there are physical complaints caused by the weight of the breast or a desire for a significantly smaller breast, a breast reduction may be the right solution.

Important to know: A breast reduction usually also involves reshaping and lifting the breasts.
The most suitable treatment depends on your individual circumstances and goals.

What matters to me
Breast surgery is a very personal decision and often involves many questions and expectations.
That is why I prioritise a detailed consultation, personalised planning and an honest assessment of the options available.
My aim is not a standardised result, but a breast shape that suits your personality, your body proportions and your wishes.

Natural results, the highest medical standards and supportive care throughout the entire treatment process form the basis of my work.
